O.P.I. Over and Over A-Gwen

I've been wearing this Gwen Stefani signature color for a couple of days now, Here in china. At first I thought it was the perfect mailbox red but it turns out its a bit on the dark side for that. The color is still perfect though. Just not for the color I had in mind :b

I find it a bit runny, so I had to keep a close eye on how much polish there was on the brush. Other than that application was nearly perfect.

This is one layer of O.P.I nailenvy, two coats of Over and Over A-Gwen topped with HKgirl topcoat by glisten and glow

This is the first mani in ages that I (almost) didn't have to do any cleanup after. And that's a big step forward for me! Even though I love polish (more than the next girl) I never really had the right moves to apply it perfectly. I have watched a ton of videos and read more blogs about this than most girls. But I guess it all comes down to the hand. And my hand is far from steady.

I was so thrilled when I realised tht I've done it this good!! And then with this red color! This really is a pain in the butt to do cleanup of! It's horrible. Red everywhere!

I really like this color and it's def a new go to red!

Russian airport and polish

Too bad! O.P.I and loreal Paris colore riche are almost the same prices as in Denmark. I feel sorta cheated!

On the bright side: I saw a chinese lady with really pretty nails, and I think I'm gonna do that design some day! :D

Blank nail canvas

Hi!
I found this awesome girl, who not only does beautiful nails, but she made a sketch of nails, so you easily can draw your designs without all of that irritating drawing of the actual nails and fingers. For me that's what've kept me from drawing a lot of designs. That the fingers get so damn crooked :b

I've already used mine and I'm deff gonna print out more!

At IG she is known as @nailsbyjema and her blog is: nailsbyjema.blogspot.com

Isn't it amazing? Thank you for doing these!

Happy Monday!

Sooo here I am. Again! Woot woot? Yesh! It's a thing! And this weeks happy Monday is neons. I'm not really into neons... But I just happened to have some. I bought my own china glaze - pink voltage, there was a killer offer on them. There was really nothing I could do :b

The other three is some opi mini neons I had given to me by my very sweet friend Sarah.
The yellow is O.P.I - Ridiculously Yellow
The pink is O.P.I - Riotously Pink
The orange is O.P.I - Formidably Orange

I got the O.P.I pink on my pointer and the CG on my ring.
The O.P.I is darker than the CG.

I have O.P.I - Alpine Snow under all of them, and it's one layer of neon topped with some seche ;)

That's all for now. I don't expect to use neons again, any time soon.

Happy Monday!

So I've been part of this group on Facebook, called happy Monday, for some time now.. And it's a weekly challenge for a group of Danish bloggers. I was super exited that I was let in to this group of talented girls! But life happens and I've not done any of the weeks yet! I know... Shame on me!

But now I'm here! And this weeks challenge was match ootd!
I was wearing this beautiful summer dress, and I just went with something simple on my nails, matching the colors. I wasn't feeling up for the big flowery things on my nails.

Inside in shade
There's not any purple in the polishes, it's just the reflection of my iPhone cover ;)

Sunlight

The polishes used are both O.P.I, the nude is my vampire is buff, a really gorgeous pale nude. It has a hint of peach in it, that I really like! Oh.. The gold is called glitzerland.

I used a dotting tool for the hearts and regular and striping tape for the lines. This design is totally coming from one of my favorite nail artists: @sinney at Instagram.

Hope you like it, and do check out what the other girls did.

piCture pOlish - lizzie

Lizzie is a pale lilac glitter, with a subtle scattered holo. Application was easy, even though the formula was a bit on the thin side. Now, I know I'm not a master of polish application (yet) but this particular one I had problems with. It was kinda running, but not quite that. It's difficult to explain, but I had polish places I've never had polish before 😂
I was surprised after all this, that it had very good coverage. I got away with two coats and I like it very much! I'd say it's definitely worth the trouble.

I did accents with piCture pOlish antique just to compare the two of them, and I really like how they complement each other. When you look at swatches of one and then the other, or in the bottle they seem quite similar, but in the polish world: it's rarely a dupe! Lizzie is like mentioned before a lilac glitter where as antique is an actually purple.

For the single shevron I used #nailvinyls from nailvinyls.com or at Instagram @teismom. I really recommend trying these out ;)

piCture pOlish - shocked

Today I finally got to wear my new picture polish! I'm so exited! I got three new ones: pirouette, Hussy and Shocked.
So today I put in shocked. And that was what I was. Shocked! It is so beautiful in the bottle and sure.. It's pretty on my nails. But I just don't like it. I have no idea why and it actually bothers me that I don't like it on my own nails. In the sun it has beautiful glitter and shimmer in it. Nothing you can feel in the formula. Something I can't understand either. Why can't I feel it? It's a deep and rich pink color really good for the summer I think. The application was a bit weird for me. I found that I needed three coats for full coverage.
Shown is three coats over one coat of depend - peel off base coat and topped with glisten&glow HKgirl fast drying topcoat.

Outside in the evening

Outside in direct sunlight

Inside under a daylight lamp.

This is the picture I took when I first got these three.. I'm haveing a real hard time getting a picture that shows the true color of shocked. But for me: it's still prettier in the bottle than on the nail. Some magic just gets lost on the way?
Maybe try with white under? I'll try that some day and update this post then! :)

eat.sleep.polish

I’ve got some pretty pretty polishes for you today guys! They are from the new collection called: April Showers Bring May Flowers.

eat.sleep.polish - Sidewalk Strider

The first one up is also my favourite of the two I got. It’s called Sidewalk Strider and reminds me of summer and the beach!
The base is sand-ish and the formula is fabulous! It has a gold shimmer that reflects the sun perfectly and that is part of the reason I love it so much. Then comes the gadgets. Bits and pieces of black particles in different sizes that mixes with the base and is really smooth. Tiny black squares, white and light pink circles is the finish to this polish. I don’t know if they are meant to be glitters, but mine don’t glitter. I don’ t mind though  - I like this finish.  It could just stand on its own with the sand base and gold shimmer but I like the polish sooo much! I would love to own both.

These are three layers and two topcoat (hkgirl) In direct sunlight and under a lamp.

eat.sleep.polish - Grasshoppa

Now I got this green polish called Grasshoppa. Gotta love that name!
I’m not one for green polish and especially not grass-green ones. But this is no ordinary one. I think I would actually were this. Like… on its own and not only for a swatch. I like it THAT much! It’s a pastel green base with gold shimmer (GOD I’m a sucker for gold shimmer!) thrown into this base, in a mess, is square greens, tiny deep pink circles, a bit lighter pink and a bit bigger circles  and again the largest of the circles is a light light pink.  A few hex in light green and pinks can be spotted if you are lucky!
Girls.. This is no ordinary polish. Opaque in two coats this beauty is a must-have for the spring/summer. Perfect for a walk in the sun!

This is two coats and two topcoats (hkgirl)

If you want to buy any of these two polishes (or any other of her lovely polishes) This is her site with international shipping girls! :

Tuesday 18 February 2014

Soooo today I got two new polishes!

piCturepOlish this one gets better with age! Antique.

This light purple shimmer polish is nothing short of amazing. The base is a delicate lilac holds tiny silver and purple glitters. It is smooth to the touch once dried and has a smooth application as well. It really is an onecoater – but you know… two coats here, just for good measurement! This is so gorgeous and delicate and I want to take it off. I imagne it would be perfect for nailart. Maybe this along with a good nude. I don’t have my tape yet (how long can it take already!?) but when I get it! Oooohh I got a lot of ideas for this one!

Shown here is two coats with no topcoat.

This picture is two coats with topcoat.

My new topcoat! Yay! I was afraid that the shimmer and glitter would be damaged by the topcoat, therefor two pics. But luckily it survived and got even more shiny.
I love it! It is HK girl Fast drying & super shiny clear top coat from Glisten & Glow.

It is so thin and easy to apply and I don’t know why I even have the Seche Vite fast dry topcoat. Oh yeah, it was alright. In the beginning that is. I have only used the HK girl topcoat once so far, so when I have used it some more I will give a better review of it!

BY K

I got these beauties from “BY-K.”  and they are wonderful! The pink and orange is really easy to apply and the small brush makes it even easier to keep everything on the nail and not everywhere else. That is really something I like in my polish! I have three pictures down below, to show you my process. I don’t know why I started doing this, but please comment and let me know what you think of the “evolution of opaqueness”. Yes.. I’m going to call it that from now on!
I started with the orange called: Hello Hallow #65 and an accent nail of the glitterbomb Matilde vs Las Vegas #66.

Hello Hallow is a bright orange in the bottle, but once it’s on the nails it is not quite as bright. That is a plus for me. I’m not that much into neon colors. It is a really pretty orange, and I’m actually not that into orange either. This polish really changed my mind about this! I like it!

1)      One coat
2)      Two coats - look how the green glitter shines up on my middle finger!
3)      Two coats + topcoat of Hello Hallow and three coats of Matilde vs Las Vegas + topcoat.
To get the third coat of glitter to be totally opaque I fished a bit after the glitter and dapped the brush onto the naked parts of the nail, dipped and dapped a couple of times for that last coat.

The glitterbomb is like tiny confetti in a tiny bottle. It has bits of blue, pink, red, gold, silver and green. The formula is a bit thin – so it’s a bit difficult to get a hold of the glitter, but I’m not too familiar with glitter polishes of this kind, but I’m definitely going to get some more.

Then I tried the pink polish called Pink Dahlia #60 and reused the glitter accent nail. It is a great deep crème pink. Kind of matte yet shiny.

1)      One coat – this polish could easily have been a one-coater. But you know. Two just to be sure..

2)      Two coats + topcoat

3)      Two coats + topcoat + Matilde vs Las Vegas + topcoat. This look I call “there’s  party on my fingers!”
There is just no way I can capture the disco i got going on with my camera.. this does not do the glitter justice!

A great thing about these polishes is: They dry SUPER FAST! It’s so nice to have a beautiful color that dries super fast, so you can go on and make some beautiful nail art with it. I haven’t tried to do actually nailart with the polish yet, but I applied top coat pretty fast and then the glitter on top of that, no problems at all! This mani lasted for two days with no chips what so ever! And on the third day it had some minimal wear’n’tear but it was time to change my mani anyways.

Julep – Mia and Winter

Mia - Dark gold/silver shimmer/glitter polish.

Having a hard time describing this marvellous color!  It has a hefty shimmer so I would almost call it glitter. But it’s not? Formula is a bit thin, so keep an eye on it when applying. Opaque after two coats, no problems with this. I find it very.. date like? I don’t know. Not an everyday color, I would probably use this as an accent polish. The polish is absolutely beautiful, but a bit over the top for me. This is two coats + topcoat.

Winter - Crème light nude grey

This is a perfect grey! Just my kind of crème and nude. Not much to say other than it is a good polish! This is two coats + topcoat. Could have gotten away with just one coat of this but yeah.. you know. Two coats just makes it purrrrfect! Really good wear, two days, minimum of wear and tear. Could have kept it on a couple of more days.

Nail vinyls: Instagram @teismom
I got some nailvinyls from @teismom ( http://nailvinyls.storenvy.com/ ) and did this manicure with them.
Love it! Love them!
Whenever I do chevrons I use these!

Colors used are: Mia and Winter by Julep.

Julep - Gemma

Light baby pink creme polish

I like the color, as it is a gorgeous light nude shade. This is three coats + top coat (Seche Vite – Dry fast topcoat). I find it difficult to apply – you have to have the magical right amount of polish on the brush, and two coats isn't opaque enough, but three coats makes it dry really slowly. BUT! Once it was on, it just didn't come off! Wore it for 5 – almost 6 days and it did NOT chip! A bit of wear on two of the tips, but barely noticeable as the color is so light.

Julep – Lola

Deep navy blue with matte finish

Wasn't too fond of the color in the bottle, way too dark for me, but once on my nails.. Yes I like it! This is one coat no topcoat, as the density of the color was so perfect! Chips easily though. I would recommend two coats and finish of by a matte topcoat, if you plan on wearing this for more than a few hours.

Fun mani

Did a little more on my Lola mani and this is what I came up with: Some caviar (from something like a one$store and a French tip of shiny seche vite: dry fast topcoat. I don’t know what I did wrong, but the caviar fell right off after the picture was taken. Guess I would do the French tips on all my fingers (possibly an accent nail with one shine) for a full mani.

My first blogpost!

I'm so exited! Decided to start blogging. Hope somebody will notice me soon.. These are just some tests.. I'm gonna play with this a lot!
